The Level 1 exam contains two parts as described below.

• Exam Part A: includes 50 multiple choice questions on various FreeFlyer topics. Each question is equally valued and this section represents 70% of the exam score
• Exam Part B: includes 10 multiple choice questions that require you to develop a FreeFlyer section represents 30% of the exam score

The exam will test your proficiencies in the core capabilities of FreeFlyer with a stronger focus on what are considered fundamental topics. The following list gives the exact number of questions in Exam Part A related to each of the core capabilities of FreeFlyer.

Exam Part B’s focus is on the fundamental topics of spacecraft propagation, generating output, and FreeFlyer scripting. In this practical part of the exam you will have to use the FreeFlyer software to answer the questions.

To pass the exam, you will need to score 70% or higher overall across both portions of the exam. You may immediately take the exam a second time if you do not pass on the first attempt, and take it a third time after waiting a week if you do not pass the second attempt.
